Here is the latest update for our Vancouver tango festival 2012

We now have Carolina del Rivero and Donato Juarez attending our Vantangofest 2012 to perform and give workshops .... as well as two fabulous young artists.... Sebastian Jimenez and Maria Ines Bogado .. CAMPEONES MUNDIALES DE TANGO SALÓN 2010 ....


Claude and I were extremely impressed with Carolina and Donato when we saw them perform at Niño Bien as part of CITA 2011 in Buenos Aires. After their performance we immediately met up with them and invited them to Vantangofest 2012.

We had been equally impressed by Sebastian and Maria Ines and were delighted when they accepted our invitation to perform and give workshops at Vantantofest 2012 ....

Vancouver Tango Festival 2012 - Vantangofest

The dates for Vantangofest 2012 are May 17 - 21. 

We are in the process of finalising an excellent lineup of Argentine tango masters to once again bring to Vancouver first class performers and teachers of this wonderful dance we know as TANGO.

The last two years of Vantangofest have put us on the tango map as a festival destination.

Vancouver has been voted time and time again as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. All of our workshops from Friday to Sunday are in the same venue ... The magnificent Croatian Cultural Centre, located the funky Commercial Drive area.

May in Vancouver also enhances the beauty of the city with it's flowers and forests readily available and accessible to our tanguero visitors.

Vantangofest 2011 started at Libertango on Thursday and officially finished last night La Lunita .... In the middle we had workshops ...private classes..... practicas ... milongas ... a grand ball ... Yogilates .....all sorts of things for sale ... good food.... and lots of tango ....

The Festival was resounding success again this year. Our workshops were all well attended ... People came from all over the world ... and returned with sore feet .... partial dehydration ... lack of sleep .... but with enormous smiles on their faces ....

Thank you ... Vancouver tango community and all the volunteers .. ... for your support and the giving of your time ... your homes ... sharing ideas ... driving people hither thither and yon ... . Ultimately making this a truly remarkable Argentine tango event.


I personally cannot give enough credit to Claude, Hazel, Steven and Joanna ... for all the work and effort they have put in throughout the year for this fabulous event. ...


We will be back in 2012 .. .... ! ....

Thursday May 26th at Monica's with a special workshop by Aurora Lubiz and Luciano Bastos .. anyone who attended this workshop last year knows the talent of these teachers and artists ...


Friday May 27th we will be in full swing at the Croatian Cultural Centre with workshops ....practicas....milongas .... and private classes given by our world renowned Masters of Argentine tango ... with a special workshop by Nick Jones and Diana Cruz..... at the Friday night milonga which is at the Croatian Cultural Centre ........... Don't miss this one ...


Saturday May 28th we continue with workshops....practicas.... milongas and private classes and then our GRAND BALL... This is must .. !!!! A classy elegant affair ... with performances by our tango Masters .... in the setting of the magnificent Auditorium of the Croatian Cultural Centre ... Then..... for those hardcore tangueros and night owls ... we have our All-Night Milonga on Commercial drive at Tango a Media Luz... Hazel's favourite ....


Sunday May 29th the celebration continues with more workshops....practicas.... milongas and private classes .... and a very special milonga on Sunday evening at the Croatian Cultural Centre ...


Monday May 30th .... we chill .... catch our breath ... catch up on some private classes with our Artists .... and then head off to La Lunita for the final milonga of the Festival....






All the while our sensational international DJ's .... will be playing for you the best Tango music on the planet ...


Every day we will have Yogilates ... plus we will have shoes ... sexy clothing ... VTF shoe bags ... t-shirts and towels ... foot massages ...

Vancouver tango festival is just weeks away

It promises to be a spectacular festival again this year with tangueros coming from all parts of the world.

We will have some limited seating reserved for our GOLD and SILVER pass holders. This will be on a first come first served basis.

Our Artists and DJ's are second to none.

Our venue is all under one roof from Friday - Sun .... with the exception of the all night milonga which will be at Tango a Media Luz ...
